Violin Room

Finally, after fourteen years of (feigning to) play the violin - - - I’ve got my very own blog where I can rave, gush, chatter, obsess, pay homage,  (well… you get the picture) about the violin on a good-violin-tone day… as well as scream, frustrate, bash and diss about it on a bad-violin-tone day.  (Let’s face it… who doesn’t have their periods of turbulent and tragic drama with their instrument?)
 
And if you’ve wandered into this page thinking about what some self-proclaimed violinist has to say about her so-called affair with her instrument - - - [scoff all you want, you ain’t the one with the blog! DUH! Pbbffff =D]  - - - you’re probably a violinist yourself [or a wannabe… again, Pbbfff! =P] who’s simply trying to get through her next violin lesson or violin recital - or worse - that upcoming orchestra audition with that etude, bach and concerto you’ve been slaving over for months on end! 
 
Well, I can’t claim to know everything about the violin, its quirky practice, nor dissect and unravel before your eyes the mystery of why you just don’t sound as good on some days as you do with others (well - - - maybe that, too… I do have a few theories up my sleeves on that)… but you can be sure to find some tips, quotes, random thoughts, musings, aphorisms, jokes, (and yes, my very own personal silly theories) on the wonderful world of music, on playing in the orchestra, and of course, on the violin.
 
What’s there left to say but “lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate!” (Abandon hope, all ye who enter here!)
